Role of Cinema in Society | Entertainment Industry

As the world is growing with full swing so, along with it the need for entertainment is also growing. Someone said it very correctly that "What would we have not paid to see the moon rise if the nature improvidently had not made it a free entertainment."  

Introduction to Cinema or Entertainment Industry:

Entertainment is an essential part of human life. Man has always tried to relax his mind through sports,yoga and entertainment. Entertainment enables the people to forget the stress of there life and help them to enjoy the moment to which they are living.
While in exercise, participation of mind and relaxation is very important or while watching dance, circus,ballet or movie requires passive participation. These techniques of entertainment have evolved out of social and psychological needs of man and they take their subject from society itself. Even if we read a novel-it is our story, plays and dance forms represents us ; and last but not the least, cinema picks up stories and characters from the society itself.

Role of Songs in Cinema or the Entertainment Industry:

Cinema has always acknowledge the new inventions in the society and we have songs to represent them all just like the 'Mission Moon' in space is bought to cinema by the song like the following ' Chand ke dar pe ja pahucha hai aaj zamana Naye jagat se hum bhi Nata jod chuke hain'(The world has reached the moon and we are connected with this new world.)Along with many romantic, classical, pop, rock,jazz,EDM songs etc. So, the culture of delivering message with melody is vivid.

The Indian Cinemas or the Entertainment Industry in Society:

The film'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'took its subject from society. It was on Hippi culture which cropped up and enslaved the youth of our country. There are films on psychological disorders prevailing in the society.'Chandramukhi'and 'Aparichit' are based on story of a person with split and multiple personality.
It was a black day in history when atom bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the movie 'Aman' screened it's after effects. The movies also take clue from scientific community and we have a lot of science fiction films such as 'Avatar' and Robot 2.O
Again the film's like Hagiqat, Border, LOC, Rustom were some of the movies made in lives of solders and wars they fought. The film 'Upkar' again depicts the condition of farmers. It depicts the picture in which a farmer joins Indian Army after a series of events. Now when the condition of our farmer is worse, we have 'Peepli Live' showing this.
Movies have been made on our judicial system, medical system, education system meanly ' No one killed Jessica', 'Munna Bhai MBBS' and '3 idiots'.
There are a number of stories on metro life, live-in relation, for example 'Life in Metro', 'Fashion' etc.
Again in the movies 'Black' which is realistic story of mentally retarded child. 'Page 3' is the move which correctly reflects the glamour world and "Gully Boy" is the musical drama film.
Some filmmakers do not make this reality factor into consideration like the Sci-fi movies. In a nutshell cinema takes its subject from society and reflect society and if there is a bit of twist in the society we may call it imagination. So cinema is a reflection of society with the mirror of imagination between the cinema and the society. As we all know we are a nation of 'Movie Birth' so this is very relevant to think and analyze 'How cinema influences society an how society influences cinema'.
